Yesenia Rojas (b. Miami, Florida) is an artist, musician, and writer currently living and working in New York City. She has performed and exhibited most notably at MoMA PS1, Frieze London, MOCA Georgia, Untitled Art, ICA Miami, Sonic Acts Amsterdam, Art Basel Miami, Performance Space NY, and Istanbul Biennial #18. Interested in the poetic and political entanglements between noise and time, her work confronts and examines modalities of power, with a focus on sound, aesthetics, and their application across various experimental frameworks. She has scored and designed original sound for films premiering at Third Horizon Film Festival, BlackStar Film Festival, Odú Film Festival, and New York Film Festival. Under the DJ moniker, LOKA, she has performed at CSD Berlin, Beijing Dangdai, Art Basel Hong Kong, Mexico City’s LS Galeria, and III Points Music Festival. She has been published by and featured in DAZED, i-D magazine, FACT magazine, Complex, Resident Advisor, DJ Mag, and the Poetry Project. With interdisciplinary artist Jesús Hilario-Reyes, she produces the New York City-based nightlife project S.L.I.P. (Sex, Lament, Intention, Potential). Rojas also plays live electronics in Formations For Eternity with Tati Au Miel.
